History

The Tower Villa

Dating back to 1889, Tornvillan at Hotel H has taken on many guises over the years, from summer residence to home for industrial workers, and carries a rich heritage. Built in 1889 by the successful builder Erik Fredlundh, the beach villa was originally a grand summer residence, strategically located at the entrance to Stockholm, with over twenty rooms and three kitchens.

Through centuries of change—two world wars, new owners, and changing times—the villa was eventually transformed into housing for several families, before finally standing empty in the early 1980s.

Hotel J

Hotel J opened its doors in 2000 and four years later became part of the Nobis Hospitality Group. In 2011, J underwent an expansion that added 113 new rooms and a modern meeting room with space for up to 160 people. This year, 2025, a careful and sustainable renovation of all hotel rooms was completed with a focus on reuse. At the same time, three new buildings were constructed—Terrassen, Paviljongen, and Panoramabastun—which reinforced the hotel's natural character and exclusive experience.
